This path is in Cades Cove, a portion of the Smoky Mountains National Park. It seemed to invite me to step back in time, to a place where settlers lived, just around the bend behind the trees. Peace and serenity surrounded me as I stood there wondering what it would have been like to live there in the 19th century.
