Creekside-Images > Winter Rails -- A lonely stretch of track through the woods with snow all around. Should we be joyfully waiting for the next train or sad that it has already gone past?
Creekside-Images > Gray Winter Day Over the Ohio River -- Snow showers and generally a gray day made this scene seem even more lonely.
Creekside-Images > Cemetery in the Field -- While driving along Indiana Highway 56 east of Madison, Indiana, we came upon this small, apparently family", cemetery. The single tree, along with the old barn and snow showers in the distance added a dreamlike quality to the scene.
Creekside-Images > Lonely Barn - This barn seems lonely sitting in the field by itself alongside of Indiana Highway 135 in the southern part of the state.
Creekside-Images > Still Standing - This barn still stands in a field alongside of Indiana Highway 135 in southern Indiana.

Creekside-Images > Lonely - While traveling around St. Louis, Linda and I stumbled upon this street that ran along the Mississippi riverfront between two old warehouses that struck me as pure loneliness. This view is looking south towards Veteran's Bridge and Eads Bridge seen in the background. The Gateway Arch is just beyond the building on the right and the bustling downtown is only a few blocks away but standing where we were, it seemed as if we were miles away from them. The raw wind that was blowing and the cold rain that was beginning to fall intensified the feeling of being alone.
